Dr. Richard Benian
Dr. Richard Benian has been with our practice since 1995.
He attended high school at Detroit Catholic Central. He is a graduate of Wayne State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and then completed a two year General Practice Residency at both Louisiana State University and Charity Hospital of New Orleans. Following that, he finished a one year Fellowship in Hospital Dentistry at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, North Carolina. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Maryland. During this time, he served as the chief resident at R. Adam Crowley Shock Trauma Center. Currently he is a staff surgeon at St. Joseph Livingston Hospital, Huron Valley Hospital and Doctors' Hospital.
His main surgical interests are facial trauma, oral pathology, reconstructive jaw surgery and dental implants.
Dr. Benian is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Dr. Benian is an examiner for the State of Michigan Specialty Board for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also lectures at the University of Detroit/Mercy Dental School and has taught at the University of Michigan Dental School. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
